CAR T cell manufacturing: where are we heading?
Weiguo Dai, Ph.D. (Janssen R&D)
Cell therapy with genetically engineered cells to express either chimeric antigen receptors (CAR) or T-cell receptors has emerged as a novel cancer treatment. Two autologous CAR T cell products (Kymriah™ and Yescarta™) were recently approved by FDA. For cell therapy, the cell manufacturing is a critical step and remains a great challenge. In this presentation, the speaker will review the current CAR T cell manufacturing process, discuss the major challenges, and share the insights in the opportunities to develop the next generation of cell drug product manufacturing process.
